The Church On Mission
What happens when the church walks out the doors on Sunday?
We are sent.
In the next message of The Church: Defined, we look at Jesus’ Great Commission in Matthew 28:18–20 and discover that mission isn’t simply one program of the church. Jesus has entrusted His church with the gospel and commanded us to make disciples.
In this message:
• Our Mission Comes From the Authority of Jesus
• Our Message Is the Gospel
• The Mission Happens Where God Has Placed Us
You don’t need to have every answer before you can tell someone about Jesus. The power isn’t in our presentation.
The power is in the gospel.
God has placed people around each of us who need Christ—family members, coworkers, classmates, neighbors, friends, and people we encounter in the ordinary rhythms of life. We cannot save them, but we can pray, love, listen, and faithfully tell them the good news of Jesus.
The building stays here.
The church leaves.
And when we leave, we aren’t simply dismissed.
We are sent.
