Unlike wishful thinking, biblical hope is a confident expectation rooted in God's unchanging promises and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This hope fills us with joy and peace, transforming our view of the present and the future. Our hope is not a fleeting, abstract concept. It is anchored in a biblical historical event, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Without the resurrection, our hope would be empty because Jesus rose from the dead. We have assurance that death is not the end.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. - 1 Peter 1:3
